Citrix Engineer (Contract)
Location: Basel Country: Switzerland
 

Citrix Specialist Engineer

Start Date: ASAP - We can accommodate a notice period of 4 weeks maximum.

Contract Length: 12 Months + Extension

Location: REMOTE in Switzerland

Hours: 41H per week

Languages: English only

I am currently collaborating with a prominent pharmaceutical company that is actively seeking a Citrix Engineer in Switzerland.

Job Description:

This role is key in the deployment, upkeep, and technical support of Citrix solutions within our organization. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Citrix Architect and the IT infrastructure team to ensure the Citrix environments run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and fine-tune Citrix technologies such as XenApp, XenDesktop, and NetScaler/ADC, aligning with business goals and architectural plans.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, update systems, and ensure the Citrix environments are stable and efficient.
  • Keep an eye on the Citrix framework for performance metrics, availability, and security, taking pre-emptive action as needed.
  • Solve technical problems in Citrix systems, engaging with vendors and support teams as required.
  • Uphold security protocols to shield Citrix setups from risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Liaise with other IT departments to integrate Citrix solutions with other technology systems, guaranteeing smooth operations.
  • Generate and update thorough documentation, including setup guides, troubleshooting methods, and knowledge articles.
  • Offer technical assistance to end-users facing Citrix-related issues, ensuring timely resolutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Citrix Engineering role, with expertise in deploying and managing Citrix technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Citrix products including XenApp, XenDesktop, and NetScaler/ADC.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
  • Understanding of networking principles, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a knack for addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Citrix certifications (eg, CCA, CCP, CCE) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both Citrix On Premise and Cloud services, including hybrid deployments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and GMP frameworks.
